Is it normal to have noticeable tummy bulge after eating?

When i'm out enjoying a meal, my belly (and *only mine*!) ends up sticking out alot. I've always had this, but didn't think it was noticetable until someone actually mentioned it the other evening (as a joke of course, they didn't mean anything bad) - i guess it was due to whatever i was wearing + forgetting to 'suck in' right when she looked over. This was super embarrassing and since then i've been really self-concious about it. I like wearing cute outfits but this is making me reconsider everything in my wardrobe. Should I be so obsessed about this? I don't understand why no one else seems to have this problem! I usually go out to dinner like 3-4 times a week, so this is going to be a frequent issue.

Any advice on avoiding this/dressing around it (I know this is the health category!) much appreciated.

It's completely normal. You're just getting bloated because your stomach is full. Happens to me all the time, then it goes down again. Hope this helped :-)

Everyone gets this to some extent. Even if you're not eating more than your friends, you might be drinking more with your meals than them, choosing foods that are harder to digest, or eating a larger volume of less calorie-dense food. (I tend to go through at least a couple glasses of water with every meal, if I pair that with eating a large vegetable dish, I hit the trifecta and can look pregnant.)

If it's lasting for an unusually long time after you finish your meal, you might have a digestion problem, which you can deal with by taking probiotic supplements, taking digestive enzymes with your meals (like Lactaid, but containing a variety of enzymes to help break down things like fibers and fats instead of just lactose), choosing easier-to-digest foods, or seeing a doctor.

Also, the smaller and skinnier you are, the more visible bloating after meals is. You might just be thinner than your friends.
