Is it normal to have people repeat question?

After someone asks me a question I always say 'pardon' or 'what' even if I know they are talking to me. I don't know why, maybe it's because I want to make sure I heard what they said correctly or maybe it for other reasons. I also stutter and say 'um' a lot.

    I do it, but not because I can't hear them. It's because, I have a hard time understanding english. It sounds practically foreign to me, but if I hear something like french, then I'm fine. Even though, I can't speak french...

    I stutter too, but not all of the time.

    I do that sometimes. It's a way to buy time to gather your thoughts before answering.

    I was just trying to get you to understand I am sick of your bullcrap! This is ten rhousand time you said that sentence!my ears can't receive the right necessary frequencies of it no more because you wrecked them! I am sick entire of hearing about this bullshit!
