Is it normal to have recurring dreams of your elementary school?

So I keep having dreams about my elementary school; I went to a pretty good school (in Beijing, China) for about 4 years when I was about 8. I have pretty bad PTSD from that time so I don't actually remember much about it, but when I dream about it, it all seems so familiar like "Oh, I remember that/you!"

More about the dream: In my dream I'm always the age that I am now (18), and everyone from my high school is there. It's as if classes are still going on even though we've all graduated, and they all know where they're going and what classes are next. And then there's me: and I have no idea what's going on. I seem to be aware that I'm dreaming and everything and everyone is out of place, and I try to tell my friends that this isn't real, but it's as if they don't hear me/ they aren't listening to me. Everything usually takes place in a cafeteria setting. In every instance of the dream, this is a constant.

Also, nearing the end of the dream (nearing the time when I wake up) I am always chased by something. It can range from a person, an animal, or just a feeling that I'm being chased. Last night it was a shark. Being caught causes me to jolt awake.

Is this normal?

    Ideas in interpretation: your elementary school could represent a basic lesson needing to be learned. You being the age you currently are could mean this is something currently affecting you. You say everyone but you knows whats going on...could mean the lesson is something your struggling with that you just cant seem to grasp, but you feel everyone else does. Cafeteria setting seems like it could represent a social setting or the social side of you. Being chased...maybe running from something you fear in your waking hours? Hope this helps

    Same with me but its always highschool, and i graduated 4 years ago soo.. But im always constantly dreaming like me and my friends are always in school and i have to go to class.. weird.

    I have reoccurring dreams about school too, both about elementary and high school . Not sure about being chased though. Though lots of people have dreams about being chased all the time, so that's normal.
