Is it normal to have ringing in ears after surgery

About a month ago I had chains inserted in my mouth to pull down my tooth which is stuck in my gums, after the surgery the room was spinning and I had a very severe tinnitus or ringing in my ears it went away for about two weeks but they just tightened the chain and it started again, this is really hard to beat and I'm wondering if this is a normal thing which will go away or if I should see a doctor, I already saw a doctor about 3 days after the surgery and he said a nerve in my inner air could have been damaged, not knowing much about nerves I don't know if this could happen more than once as they tighten the chain. Pls help, thank you

See a doctor or go back to the dentist, this isn't right

I get it from some pain killers and when they administer morphine.
But you should definitely get it checked out properly

If I were you, I would insist on getting to the bottom of this right away to avoid permanent damage if possible. You don't want to deal with this for the rest of your life, trust me. I have tinnitus bad in one ear and it's bullshit.

The ringing or high pitched whine is called tinnitus.
It can be caused by jaw problems and some people claim to get it after anesthesia.
    Usually temporary.

I've had it happen intermittently my whole life. It's actually a brain-signal thing more than an inner ear thing.

    Best of luck.

You should get a referral to an Ear Nose & Throat specialist (ENT). I had a similar problem where the nerve between ear and brain was damaged from an antibiotic that was toxic to the inner ear. It sucked. But they never tell you these things until the damage is done and just shrug their shoulders..

When I say it went away in two weeks I mean it progressively got better
