Is it normal to have scar when no injury or medical procedure?

There is a scar 18 mm long by 5 mm wide that appeared on my left arm two days ago. I have had no medical procedure, no injury to that arm. By the size of the scar, if I had an injury I would know it and there would have been blood. The arm is not sore at all. In fact, if I didn't see the scar I would never know it is there. And whats more is that I have had my share of cuts and scrapes and I know that a wound of this size takes time to heal. It is a process. Part of that process is a scab which takes about two days to form, then hardens and stays for about a week until it eventually falls off, leaving a scar. But in this case that did not happen. Arm was normal one day, the next day there is a scar. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Keep that tin foil hat on. It gets pretty cold out there.

It is not only not normal, it is not possible. A scar is the result of wounded tissue. So no injury equals no scar. Two possibilities exist, you had an injury you are somehow not aware of, or what you have is not actually a scar. If you want an opinion on which is correct, consultant a doctor, or someone who can at least see it.

Either that or she's getting FAT quick and those scars are stretch marks.

Stretch marks are scars from wounded tissue caused by tearing. So that would fall under my first possibility.

Why are you complaining? Scars are better than tattoos.

T_Z_K...I'm not complaining. It doesn't hurt or bother me. It is just that when something happens out of the normal that I cannot explain I like to get to the bottom of it. In my experience a scar is the result of a violent interaction between the skin and an sharp object. That object could be a pair of scissors that slip, or a protruding nail, or other such device. It could be a medical procedure, such as where my appendix was removed. In all those cases I knew the moment the event occurred because of the pain and blood associated with this. And I knew what caused it. Even with the medical procedure that I slept through there was still some pain and discomfort several days later, which is normal. But this scar is different. No memory of a traumatic event, no pain and no discomfort. Just a scar that was never there during my life, and then one day, without explanation, there it is.
