Every time when I have to pee, the majority of it will come out all together, then I'll have 2-3 more surges that sometimes are as long as the original. Is it normal to break up your pee streams like that? I mean I don't spend a lot of time listening to others' urinate.
This is due to both the pressure and or shape of the urethra ending.
If you are asking on why the droplets seperate from eachother I have an entirely different answer. Water is naturally repelling of itself due to surface tension. Droplets by themselves have enough surface tension to not accumulate in the air as it falls. Only when pressed against a surface is water forced to accumulate into a mass of fluid. This is why some fluids are actually more or less cohesive when poured such as lubricants and adhesives.
I'm a guy, and my normal pattern has always been a main flow followed by decreasing squirts. It works well enough for me, and I've never even wondered if other guys peed differently.
I asked if you were male or female because the female urinary tract is much shorter and more direct, whereas the male tract passes through the prostate, which very commonly becomes enlarged in older men and restricts the flow of urine.
I'm not a urologist, so I can't give you an expert opinion, but I wouldn't be surprised if young men also sometimes have a very narrow passage through the prostate. Have you noticed that this is more noticable after ejaculation? The internal plumbing of guys usually blocks off the flow of urine until some time after that event. But you say it's "always" been the case, so I suppose that implies it happened before you figured out how to do that for yourself.
My personal experience has been that if I urinate soon after ejaculation, it's not uncommon for the main flow to not entirely empty the bladder. I suspect that what happens is that when the bladder is full, it's possible to compress it enough to overcome the restriction at the start, but once it's almost empty, the pressure falls.
Frankly, I'd suggest you try not to worry about this too much unless it's causing you serious problems. If the initial flow is so weak that it takes you five minutes (an exaggeration, of course) to drain the tank, then you might be wise to talk to your doctor or a specialist. But if it's not causing you any problems, I suggest you just accept that that's how you are.
