Is it normal to have so much anxiety? how do i get rid of it?

First of all I want to say that I was sexually harassed, it started when I was in the first grade, and "ended" in the 6th. This interferes with everything. I went to the mall a few weeks ago, and there was a guy about a foot behind me, and shivers just went up and down my spine. I felt like dying. I thought he was going to touch me. How do I get rid of this?? Does anyone else feel the same way? (I've been seeing a counselor, and she hasn't helped me in any way. I thought maybe someone with the same problem or more experience may know)

It's a mental thing. There is no single answer how to get rid of the anxiety, you need to ask yourself what you need to do to make yourself more relaxed in that situation.

I have anxiety and I can't go out on my own because I feel like everyone's out to get e. The world isn't a safe place but once something bad happens it stays with you for a ling time and controls your life.

I don't even have to put any thought into it when I say that what you're feeling is completely normal. About 6 years ago my sister was molested in her bedroom by a stranger, and I know she gets scared very easily. I think it's completely normal for you to think that everyone is going to hurt you, especially since you went through it for as long as you did, but my advice to you would be to at least try and trust people again. Also, try and get a new counselor if this one isn't working. There are sick people out there, but there are also people out there who want the best for you.

    Stay strong.
