Nope. Not normal. Heaven and Hell do not exist. Ghosts do not exist. Be rational please.
I've got one.
Now, I was never really the type to believe in ghosts. I thought it was a cool concept for a fiction but not in real life.
I started working as a security guard in a trailer park in mid-2011. My supervisor (who is a little bit of a nut, sweet woman, but a bit of a nut) told me, while we were training and riding the go-kart about the neighborhood, that there was a mod-home on the promenade that was once occupied by an elderly woman who died in that home.
She told me that her supervisor told her that the old woman never had any visitors and when she died, no family came to collect the stuff. It was all disposed of by the city and the house was then claimed as city property which happens when no one else will claim it. She said that she felt the house was haunted because when she went to inspect it (which was routine for all city-owned vacant homes) she would get an odd pinch in her right hand and feel a creepy presence.
I worked night shifts and one night was particularly mild so I decided to take off my jacket. I was the only other guard there that had the white uniform (other than my supervisor) and my supervisor and I, physically speaking, were not very different if not for age and hair color (generally speaking). So I am making my way around the first mod-home's inspection and getting around to the older woman's when I feel this pinch in my right hand.
Of course I'm in fucking la-la land and I usually don't think about the shit my boss says anyway so I am rubbing at my hand and it only gets worse as I get closer to the house. I then remember my boss' little ghost story and say to myself something like "That ain't funny ya bitch" and suddenly the pinch turns into a shooting pain up my right arm to my shoulder. It was fucking agonizing, and I apologize aloud. The pain starts to dull a bit and I inspect the house. I sit on the porch and say "hi" to the ghost to humor myself and tell her that she is probably lonely and I will come back later, have a smoke and talk to her.
I come back before the end of my round (with the entire upper right half of my body simply throbbing in the strangest manner, first and last time it had happened) and sit on the steps and light one up. I start talking about myself and how she might have mistaken for my boss due to my attire and appearance. In the corner of my eye, I am seeing this weird shadow in the screen door and I swear it seemed as if a hand was trying to turn the knob but I dismissed it as my little hallucination. I said something to the effect of "I wish you could talk back to me" and for fuck's sake I now believe in ghosts.
From what seemed like the inside of the mod-home, the living room to be exact, I hear what sounded like a woman's voice. She seemed... upset. Two or three words, no more than eight syllables ending with an upward inflection. Now, I knew that trailer park better than I know my own damned neighborhood and I knew the mechanics of the place. If it were a car, a helicopter or another person, I sure as hell would have known it.
I freaked, I started cursing, I did not expect to actually GET A RESPONSE. I got up and I left. I road my little security go-kart around the promenade, looked at the mod-home and gave it a cheeky wave and I saw her. I stopped the go-kart and even had a good look and heavens to fuckin' Betsy she was 5'3, wearing a lavender blazer with gold buttons and I only saw the left portion of her body and I was so fucking spooked I left. I mean... Wow.
So I go home and do some research. Her name was Wilma Jenkins, she died back in '06 I think. She was 81 and she had a stroke in the home. She was unmarried and had two daughters and some grandkids but they lived in Kansas City which is where she was from. No funeral. Hardly an obituary. So I had to try the little ghost trick.
I went back to the mod-home and apologized. Told her that she may have mistaken me for one of her grandchildren or for my boss and I turned on a recorder to see if I could get a response, asked some questions, mentioned her name and got the hell out of there. I played the recorder and right before I finished my questions, in the recorder, I said good-bye and it picked up a scream that damned near busted my ear drums when I listened to it. It did not play again the next time I played it... but the 5th and 8th time it did before I got so spooked that I ditched the damned device on my Aunt.
After that, I was too spooked to check the place out again. The day before I got removed from the post (I didn't know I was to get removed) I came to the house and saw two, beautiful, freshly cut roses next to their bush. Something tells me that they were from her. I still hardly believe in ghosts, but I believed in her and I hope she finds peace someday.
You're brave. I never saw a ghost but according to my mom, most houses I lived in were haunted. I only had an experience with a ghost once though. When I was in this one house in Montana, I was almost asleep and my dog was sleeping next to me and to the other side of me, a ghost pushed me. It woke me up and my heart was pounding. I was too scared to move and even though it was completely dark, it looked like the room was shaking. I heard her breathing. I wanted to ask her what her name is but that just came out as a whimper. After I whimpered, the breathing sound slowly faded away and I think she left when she realized I was scared. My mom told me a lot of experiences she had with the ghost at that house and the other houses we lived at before that one. I thought the ghost was a woman by how she was breathing. A year later, my grandma was visiting that house and while we were eating lunch, she said "I think we have a visitor." Me and her husband asked who and she said it was the ghost. She said the ghost touched her from top to bottom. She said she doesn't know how but she could tell it was an old lady with gray hair.
On another day, it was windy outside and some windows were opened. I was home alone. The wind blew some doors shut and I thought the ghost did it. I was afraid to open them. I just ran and leaned against the futon. I talked, thinking the ghost would hear me. I said that I don't know why I'm afraid of her and I probably shouldn't be. I'm not sure if she heard me or not and I texted my mom saying that the ghost was pushing the doors shut and when she got home, she said it was the wind.
Prior to my ghost experience, I did not think ghosts were real for four years and did not believe when anyone told me their ghost stories. I'm the OP btw.
I had them when I was younger. The most tangible was one night I was laying on the couch, falling asleep when I heard a very deep voice mutter, "Wait til he sleeps".
Another time I was writing poetry (shut up) and as I was racing to my room I caught the image of a 8 foot tall skeleton with wings sitting on my couch. It was staring at me, fascinated.
Was it real? I can't say, but it's unprovable so I don't dedicate much thought to it.
Hello all you boys and girls. I'd like to take you to the inside world. It's quite an irregular place to be. But never fear you're safe with me.
Well, maybe.
I don't remember it because i was only three , but my mom told me about it.My grandmother had passed away and sent me a doll not long before. The doll was in the bottom of a box of toys that i had. Late at night, my mom went to check on my and I was talking...She asked who i was talking too. I held up the doll and said "Granny"
My grandma use to wear this jacket and it had a very distinct smell, not bad, just distinct. She always wore it. When she died I remember that for the next couple of days I would always smell that jacket. Especially when I was alone, I could feel her being around me. I've never seen an apparition as far as I know though.
I think I saw a ghost when I was staying at my grandma's house this summer. They said I was dreaming, but I could swear they looked like real hands.
Toys like to go off spontaneously, only when you are alone, at my current house. We keep heating flutes outside through the bathroom window. One time I found a decapitated squirrel. Monsters are eating socks and elves are hiding my belongings.
At other places I've heard strange noises, felt immense changes in temperature, been raped by a ghost (succubus?), seen a couple UFO's, felt God's presence and watched my sister complain about her hands burning because I prayed for herand witnessed a couple miracles.
Was Succubus the ghost's name?
I remembered you were the one who got raped by the ghost but I didn't know about the other things.
Lol, no I meant Incubus, the demon that violates women in their sleep... because I was asleep when it happened. I had just got home from school, to an empty house, when I had this overwhelming urge to lay on the couch and nap (which was very uncommon of me then). I fell back and drifted to sleep almost immediately. A few minutes passed and I began hearing people talking and bags moving around. There were 4 or 5 strange young men sitting around in my living room, kind of hanging out I guess, walking back and forth. One of them decided to lay on top of me and proceeded to put his miniscule manhood inside me, which was a bit pleasurable, but too odd to enjoy. After that I woke up, in what-the-fuck?!?! mode... And that is my story. It's probably the strangest story I have.
The other things seem pretty normal, though, and could very well have a rational explanation. Aside from the spiritual/religious things - I like to hold those to a higher level of rationality. Even the four UFO's that flew over my neighborhood in broad daylight... they could have been anything.balloons? The only thing I can think of them being is balloons... that retained a constant distance of about 50 ft ( it's hard to judge with sky objects) from one another, yet still managed to follow the exact same path. But, you know, coulda just been a trick of the wind.
Was the thing with the ghost raping you a dream? You made it sound like it was a dream.
It could have very well been a dream. But it was so out of the ordinary and distinct from any other dream I've had that just because it occurred during sleep I don't believe it was more supernatural than a dream... Actually If had to go back in time to recall whether I'd taken any drugs around that time. If I took a pill the day before that happened it was probably just a weird ass dream. Can't remember though..
I know the feeling. I once had a dream something invisible was dragging me out of my bed, I thought it was a demon or something that was going to possess me. I remember I said to it "Do whatever you want just don't take over my body" and it just... did innappropriate things. >.O It was so vivid and felt so strange I don't know if I'll ever be totally convinced it was just a dream.
When I was 13 I slept on the couch for a week. (Lived in grandma's house)
My grandma had a grandfather clock in the living room. I would wake up just before it went off at the same time every night. My blanket would always be on the floor next to me. I even tried wrapping it around me to see if I was just overreacting, but every night it would be on the floor.
I would hear creaking going on the the kitchen. (Scared the shit out of me!) Sometimes footsteps walking down the hallway. Then after a bit the lights would turn on or I'd get so scared I'd run for them. I remember walking to the kitchen and all of the cabinets would be open.
Everyone in the house said it was my grandpa. They said they heard footsteps walking down the hallway at night or sometimes a coin would drop out of nowhere. It didn't just happen to me either. My dad and brother told me the same thing happened to them before I even told them what happened.
