Is it normal to have this much internet usage?

I have used 2 gigabytes of data in just 2 weeks and I only spent about 10 hours on my browser. I really don't get how that many bytes can go so fast. Is there something wrong? How much do you use and do you have a better internet option?

Before I changed to a new service provider I was averaging 180gb a month which was actually free with my phone contract, it was only supposed to be a 2gb a month allowance but in 4 years they never charged me once for going over.

Wait so you save all your history and need to constantly add more Bytes to hold it all? Cant you just erase your history instead of saving everything? It seems ridiculous to save every single thing you ever click on your computer.

What are you doing? HD video > SD video > music streaming > web browsing > chat.

If you're not doing anything to justify that download, then maybe someone else is. Do you have up to date protection against web nasties?

It is very difficult to say, your usage not only dependent on time you spend on the internet but also what are you doing on the internet, for example P2P and video streaming consumes a crap load of data vs viewing text based emails.

and/another possibility is that it could be a virus or someone could of hacked your computer/into your network, etc.

Some internet providers do offer the ability to check your usage online. I often log onto mine and give me a good indication when I use a lot of data and also check if anyone for example has accessed my wifi network for free internet. If they do not offer that facility, you could just call them.
