Is it normal to have trouble making analogies?

The backstory here is that my friends have brought this issue to my attention after several analogies I have tried to create in conversations with them, failed, miserably to make any sense.

Now I have this worry that I am not good at making analogies. Now, don't get the impression that I thought I was good and now my friends are giving my insecurity the spotlight: no. I was never amazing at it.

I was just wondering if it was normal to fear being bad at giving examples or analogies, since they're very powerful if used correctly. I feel almost like I can't even give good simple analogies.

Yeah. Like showing them an x-ray of a Hot Wheels you shoved up your ass when you were 8 when explaining how renter's insurace works. It happens.

Try to find analogies wherever you can. You'll get better at it. Metaphorical thought sort of puts you brain into overdrive. Mmmmmmm cool.

Analogies are terrible. I knew a girl who had analogy to gluten. Whenever she ate it she got the shits.

No one should ridicule you because of your analogies.
