Is it normal to have your vision go weird after staring at something?

As in, try this....find something in your room, and totally focus on it for say 30 secs while trying to relax your eyes a little, do you find you get weird effects with around it, or in your peripheral vision? I just wandered...thanks!

Yes it's normal. Are you like 5 years old? That's the only logical explanation for someone not knowing that it's normal for your eyes to go blurry after staring. I'm assuming you've read before in your life, right?

Yes. It happens to me as well usually happening if I focus on certain objects, while sometimes it happens randomly.

That is the rods and cones of the eye "sticking", hence the persistent image. If you are in a yellow light, you probably won't experience it, yet if you are in a blue light it will be enhanced. Your eyes respond to different colours in different ways.
