Is it normal to hear a hissing sound under the hood of my car?

I recently charged my A/C in my car and i sort of hear a hissing sound when the engine is running but when i turn the car off i really hear a hissing but only if the A/C is on when the engine is running and right before i turn the engine off. My A/C is still blowing cold and it doesn't feel or smell like theres any leaks and the pressure isnt dropping or the amount of freon in the system so is this a normal sound?

perhaps you blew out a tire and do not realize it. I know virtually nothing about cars though. You should consult a mechanic.

Please note: Do not substitute IIN for a mechanic. Get your car checked

I know this. My A/C sometimes does this hissing thing, but it's very, very quiet and lasts max. 5 seconds.
I will get the car checked, cause I did have some trouble with the aircon a month ago.

It is most likely a faulty psychic ion converter issue, a common enough problem.

Contact yr local ketamine wizard and he should be able to fix it.

Failing that - rubbing yr balls on the hood till they bleed then finger painting crude portraits of Katy Perry on the windshield should have the hissing sound fixed straight away.

Let me know how you go.

Can you see the compressor cycling onn & off? Does the hissing follow that?

What is the temp of the various A/C components & hoses? Any water or ice on anything? Puddle of water under car?

Can you narrow the area under the hood where the hissing is?

    Kill it with fire.

On a more kinder note, I think you should lovingly take your car to be fixed.

Sounds like an A/C fitting is partially blocked. I'd have the system checked before it gets totally blocked, and it's the middle of the summer.

yeah, it did. Good thing, scared the hell out of me. It turned out to be just a black snake, but i still got to be careful, copperheads are plenty where i live.

It could be a vacuum leak. If you don't know how to check it yourself, have your mechanic check it.
