I get why you might be trying to hide it in public but there is no reason to hide it from your family if you wife loves you she wouldn't care. I mean it's just Tourettes you'd have to be a total ass to leave someone for that
Well, in your case it is totally normal to hide it since you are ashamed of it. But don't be... your wife should be ok with it, don't hide it from her. You should really talk to her about it.
Why not take the stage in a comedy club and let yourself tic away. You could get paid big bucks for letting people laugh at you. Ever think of that?
right give your money to some asshole that wont change a thing. its better to survive tourettes the way you are because it cant be cured. You are doing fine bud. you are made the way you are made. no one can council it away.
I am sure your wife knows you have it. Does she? I am sure there are meds to lesson the affect it has on you. Are you on any meds for it? If not get referred to a specialist and get on those meds. I am sure it will help.
I have some friends with it. Mostly OCD. They'll make odd faces or some strange noise over and over again sometimes in front of me or when they think no one is looking.
Most people can see it and know. Most of the time no one tells you or speaks of it to others.
If it's bothering you so much tell your wife. I highly doubt you telling her you have a condition is going to end your relationship. She loves you and I once again probably knows you suffer from it.
My friends combated it by doing less "odd" things. Little things no one would notice.
It's normal to feel self conscious, but you shouldn't feel like you have to hide things from your wife. If it is interfering with your marriage then maybe getting counseling would be a good idea.
Yes, it's normal. Just like me I fake tourette's just so I can cuss in church. I can't wait for Sundays!!
