Is it normal to hit myself a little when i'm mad at myself?

When I am mad at myself for making a mistake or embarrassing myself, I sometimes hit the sides of my head. I just do it with my hands, not in front of anyone, and definitely not enough to leave a mark. Is this normal?

I think you just took an important step to bringing about world peace. If the Taliban were given GI Joe dolls to abuse and blow up, and Americans were given the Islamic equivalent, maybe we could stop going to war and just play in the back garden with our toys!

I don't know if this is pesky, kinky, or a tribute to the wonderful big cat. I am going to assume all three and say, in turn, "Oi!" and "Ooh la la" and "Thank you".

          • no you would say" why are you squirming?" then "Pooeee that stinks!" then you would hear the sound of laughter and you would growl and slink off into the jungle a changed tiger

All the help I can get. If you can sew tiny uniforms, we can use you. Thank you for being a good citizen!

Perfectly normal. I do it too.

As long as it doesn't progress to cutting, you're ok.

I do this occasionally when I'm extremely frustrating, usually doing physics. I'd say normal just don't be too hard on yourself.
