Is it normal to intentionally fart in public places to get a reaction?

One of my friends enjoys occasionally eating pizza or other greasy food and then going to a crowded place and farting. He does this to get a reaction and thinks it is funny when people smell his farts and show their disgust with their facial expressions. About a year ago he ate deep dish pizza and then when to a crowded bar and unleashed a silent fart and thought it was hilarious when the older man next to us crinkled his nose at the smell and several other people put their hands over their noses.

Is it normal to intentionally fart in public places to get a reaction?

    It may be a psychological reason, such as not having enough attention when he was younger, so he tries (in inappropriate ways) to get that lost attention now.

      Actually, that's a myth. People who get less attention as kids tend to not need it as they never knew it to be important. Only a narc will differ.

      People need to learn that reverse psychology doesn't apply to much in reality.

    I think it is hilarious. In my opinion people should let them rip in public more often. If it makes you laugh and smile then do it. No one has ever been hurt because of someone else's fart.On average people fart 20 times a day and one is bound to get let out.

    I wouldn't want to do that, but I'd be funny, assuming that everyone farts, and whoever crinkles up their nose to the smell, you should not deny that you haven't had a smelly fart before X D

    No, I do not think it is normal. But then again, I'm having horrible images of my cousin doing the same thing, later proceeding to fart in my face in my father's SUV.
