keeping batteries in the fridge extends their shelf-life, but it is kinds pointless because a betteries self-life is about 5-10 years or something anyway
Edible batteries that still functions in cold and moist conditions? Interesting!
Just store them at room temperature.
I don't keep enough stock in my house to benefit from prolonged shelf-life.
As for operation: they actually function a bit better when they're warmer.
We've always kept our batteries in the fridge on the basis they keep their charge better.
I think that would actually diminish the battery life. I wonder why they do this?
If anything it would cause condensation to form on them when they are removed from the fridge and then they will corrode and damage the appliance.
Their pretty set in their ways though.
Thanks for the replys.
We use to put near dead batteries on the radiator to give them a little more charge.
I don't think putting them in the fridge is going to do anything beneficial.
They'd be better off keeping them in direct sunlight. They'd have more charge. That's why, when the batteries are nearly dead in our remotes, we rub them with our hands to warm them and to get a bit more charge out of them.
