Is it normal to 'know' wild animals?

I spend a lot of time outdoors on my property, and I notice several wild 'regulars'. I grow quite fond of them, I watch them, I get to know them in a sense.

The most interesting animals to visit regularly was a flock of guinea fowl! I also have had a fox visitor for years, he arrived as a very young pup, I think he was lost or abandoned by his momma, and lives right up my hill. He barks every night!

I've got to know many of my wild friends and it's great! I love observing them, and just seeing them regularly, it's the highlight of my day.

Had a finch that use to wake me up
Each day about 7am by tapping on my window and would sit on a tall plant out side my kitchen window sometimes while I did dishes . He came back each spring for 3 years till my asshole boyfriend who lived with me shot rubber bands at him every morning for 3 days when he woke him up at 7 am while I was out of town . I never saw the finch again after that .

This is outside my experience, unless you count feral cats.

It must be very beautiful where you live. I would like to be there.

Girls are wild animals. Therefore, I know them too.

The only wild animals near me are birds. And there are many migrating at this time of year so I see lots. I've also seen a red tailed hawk near my office. I watched one dismantle another bird a few months back. It just snatched its prey right out of the sky. It was kind of beautiful to witness.

Of course you were. And you sure made a mess of feathers everywhere.

I don't have any where I live now because it's ultra-urban but there were foxes, two squirrels, and a jay that were regular visitors and that I knew by sight where I used to live. It was the highlight of my day too, even though the squirrels were naughty and constantly usurped the bird food I put out.
