Is it normal to let my cat lick my armpit?

I have a cat that is attracted to the deordorant that I use. When I sit in my recliner with my shirt off, the cat will jump up on the arm, sniff my armpit and start to lick it. It hurts at first, 'cause of the sandpaper like tongue, but I let the cat continue until it's done. Sometimes the cat will lick my armpit long enough that it starts to bleed. Is this weird?

I think its perfectly normal, since they like salt on humans and has to do with being something similar to thier mother. I'm not sure if the deoderant is safe for them, though.
Call me 'weird' but I like the feel of it personally and just let them do what they want up to a point. I don't let it get to the point of bleeding. I imagine it'd be unpleasant then :(

Sounds like you need to watch "The truth about cats and dogs"

  • It happens in the morning before I dress for work. I sleep in the buff and my clothes are in the room downstairs. I get up at 3:00am and sometimes I like to sit in the armchair and "doze" a bit beofre I dress and leave. The cat in question will jump on the armchair, sniff around and then start licking.

Uh, if you permit anything to continue long enough to cause bleeding, it's not normal.
