Is it normal to lie about my age to be older or younger?

I am a 23 year old guy, but I constantly lie about how old I am when people ask. It is a strange problem because I change my age to be either older, or younger, whatever I deem appropriate for the situation.
I look young, and people often think I am a teenager which aggravates me somehow because I'm not, and haven't been for a long time! On the other hand, I am deathly afraid of getting old, having wrinkles and being a sad adult trapped in a monotonous life. I usually like to say I'm younger so I can get away stupid stuff and acting like I don't care. But I like to lie and make myself older to seem more experienced or mature (especially at work). I have been anywhere from 17 to 27 and the point is, I never seem to be satisfied with my real age. I'm not sure what to think, and so I wonder IIN?

Get over it. If you're 23 then you're 23. Why lie?

Lol people always seem to think I look about 4 yrs younger than I really am. I dont care...as long as I can think at an adult level, I really dont care that much about how old I look. I'll always be short and look young for my age but I personally would much rather that than be tall and look older.

I look a lot younger than I am so when people guess my age (up to 12 yrs younger) I just say,"Good guess!" Technically, it's a lie by omission but I like the fact that people think I'm younger.
