Sometimes after a long days work my balls get really sweaty and I like to grab my balls and smell my hand. Just to be clear I do take showers every other day and wash my hands after touching my balls because I know the smell comes from bacteria building up which does disgust me. Although the smell doesn't.
BTW, OP, the smell most people associate with "ball sweat" isn't a build up of bacteria, but male pheromones. It's sort of a sweet/musky/fruity smell that most people probably find pleasant, but won't admit it.
If your scrotum ever smells "bad" or like bread or beer, you might have a bacterial or fungal infection.
It's not something that I've personally experienced so, I can't be sure on the normalcy of it.
