Is it normal to like to go to bed early

I was never one to say up late at all. Even growing up I always had an early bed time. I have changed my shift at work I now have to be up by 2am and work the 3am to 11am shift. I work for a grocery store, I clean and restock shelves. They just started these new hours and I decided to change my shift, my best friend also works the same shift. Was telling my parents I do feel I need an early bedtime now, they both feel I should go to bed by 6pm. Was wondering if anyone feels it is normal with working those hours to go to bed that early. Thank you everyone

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. Still loving working my early shift and it is nice having my days free, really can get a lot done. Going to bed at 5pm really is not bad at all rather enjoy it. Yesterday was feeling tired so decided just to take a bath after we ate and was in bed like 4:30pm slept like a baby, was up this morning at 2am. Have just about all my chores done and just going to go out and mow the lawn now. Hope you all have a great day.

Hi everyone, I really thought going to bed real early would be hard for me. I have been going at 5pm that was suggested by my dad and the doctor and I have been getting up at 2am like I will when I start the new shift Monday. I am off from now till then. I do wake up feeling really refreshed and with more energy. We eat our evening meal around 3:45 so I eat then take a bath and just go to bed so I am usually in bed a little before 5pm. I know some people think it is really early to go to bed but when you work the hours I do you have to rearrange your bedtime. It is amazing how much I get done now during the day. Yesterday mowed the lawn and cleaned our garage out and I did not even feel tired.

I would usually just go to bed when I got home after work, but I worked a shift from 10pm to 6am, sometimes I'd stay til 8am for overtime. I figure as long as you're getting at least 8 hours of sleep you should be okay.

Thanks RoseIsabella, yes I need at least 8 hours of sleep I usually get around 9, I have always been like that. I will actually start the new hours next week and trying to get use to a schedule now that will work best for me. For today my dad suggested to me to try going earlier. I have been going to bed at 6pm the last few days and getting up like I would for work and still feel a little tired. So I will try like an hour earlier. Tomorrow I go for a physical for work and will talk to the doctor also and see what he recommends to me.

I did go for my physical and thankfully I am in good heath, as you can see by my picture I am overweight so he did talk to me about that. On bed time he asked with trying two different times which one I felt was best and waking up feeing refreshed. I told him I know its early but with going at 5pm I did feel refreshed and not as tired during the day. He told me to keep the 5pm bed time for a full week and see how that goes for me, he said my body will get use to that and that some people do need more sleep than others. He said with working my hours it is good I am getting to bed early and no shame in that at all. Shared with my parents what the doctor told me and they also agreed, so for a week I am going to bed at 5pm. He told me to come back and see him in a week for a follow up.
