Is it normal to live like this
Unfortunately, I think I have some sort of issue as far as the way I live. My house is beginning to resemble an episode of hoarders honestly. I haven't taken out any garbage in several weeks. There are empty containers of rotting food, and there are flies buzzing all over the place which is rather annoying. The fridge is filled with empty cans of food that are weeks old. There are plates with food on them that are covered in buzzing flies. The odor has become horrendous.
There are rodents everywhere. It's sometimes mildly difficult to sleep due to the squeaking and skittering on the floor. Mice often scramble in the sinks at night, and this creates a huge amount of noise. First, you hear the mouse. Then, the sound of the mouse clattering on the dirty dishes in the sink creates an irritating clattering sound.
The mice poop on my plates often, which is rather unappetizing. Every morning when I wake up, I shake the box of cereal to make sure there are no rodents in my breakfast cereal. The odor created by the rodents is revolting, dead rodents are in various places and I haven't bothered to look for them and remove them.
Also, there is garbage on the floor since my trash can is full. I often entertain myself by kicking empty food cans. There also are dozens and dozens of beer cans on the floor. I'm a heavy drinker, and the cans pile up rather quickly. For better or worse, I've been getting drunk pretty much every night (or at least 3-5 times a week) for the past few years which may contribute to my disorganization.
One day, I noticed a slight odor of human waste in the bathroom when I had not used it. To my dismay, I discovered that there was actually a dirty toilet tissue on the floor. I'm not even sure how it got there, but I promptly removed it.
It's not a matter of being a sentimental hoarder or anything that has caused garbage and empty beer cans and bottles to pile up in the house. I'm just too lazy to clean.
Also, the laundry situation has gotten ridiculous. I leave piles and piles of dirty laundry, and I often rewear the same clothing items for days or even a week or longer. I wash my work uniform every day, but everything else I just let sit on the floor and rewear it multiple times. Once, during a bad case of the shits, I even crapped my pants a little and just let the dirty underwear sit on the floor for several days.
On one occasion, I noticed a rodent was skittering around in my clothes and eating from a bag of chips that I had in my pocket while drunk. I didn't think all that much of it. In fact, I simply threw out the bag of chips and shooed the rodent away. Then, later I just kind of thought to myself, gee I should wash these pants to make sure there was no mouse poop in my pocket. I didn't though and just kind of forgot about it until I was drunk at a bar later that night and noticed a tiny piece of rodent feces in my pocket.
When I go to work, I brush my hair. However, otherwise I generally don't really bother. I have fairly long hair too, so it tends to look extremely disheveled. Typically, I only wash my hair maybe once or twice a week. I do take showers but never really bother to actually wash anything, except for rare occasions.
The other thing is that I never wash my hands, like just about not ever. I'll take a crap and I don't wash at all. I don't wash before I eat either.
I never clean toilets either. So the toilet is covered in dried poop. It's probably worse than even the grossest of gas station bathrooms. Also, on rare occasions, I urinate in sinks in the house.
There also was an occasion when during a bout of diarrhea, a bit of diarrhea splattered on the bathroom wall. Unfortunately, I just left it there for several weeks before cleaning off the dried feces. Rarely, I'll even throw ass wipe tissues in the bathroom garbage and left them there for weeks.
I also often blow my nose and just throw the tissue on the floor. Therefore, in the days and weeks after a cold, there are snot covered tissues all over the house. Of course, I often blow my nose into my blanket so there is often snot in my bed and on my clothes.
I had a girlfriend briefly but it didn't work out. When she saw my house, I noticed that things turned rather awkward. I wasn't sure why, but now I wonder if she may have been put off by having a bit of a messy house. She never said anything though so maybe it was something else?
