Is it normal to look young

Hi I was reading about people who look young I am 42 but look 25 I am small don't smoke don't drink and don't wear make up many times people comment on how young I look I too have an intolerance to the sun and have dry eye and have to wear sun glasses outside, I don't no why I look so young it has amazed me for years I like it but feel patronised sometimes because people treat me younger like a little girl because I am small in stature and young looking

I look about 10 years younger, just turned 35, male. More recently my age peers have really started to accelerate in terms of their ageing and I feel more and more out of place. My late teens and early twenties were actually ok as everyone looked relatively young. On the whole, I have a myriad of the usual stories to tell of disrespect, being treated with contempt or simply ignored. To anyone not affected, imagine wearing a mask of a different person, the person that people perceive, but being a completely different person underneath. The real killer is that the person people perceive is a youngster with little experience, knowledge or anything, while underneath hides a grown man with a wife and successful career. I am effectively disabled and class myself as such. With my condition I am unable to participate in normal society. The real downer is that deep down I have a positive, confident and generally happy and extrovert character. Tragically, by the way people typically treat me, my condition has made me bitter, confrontational, introvert and generally withdrawn from society. My life would be essentially ruined would it not be for my beautiful wife, who takes me for who I am !! I am so lucky :)
My agelessness is definitely abnormal and all I would wish for is to simply fit in with the rest of society, not too much to ask in my book.
I agree that medical/genetic reserach needs to be undertaken into this abnormality.

I can't speak with as much experience as you, but I'm 24 and I just got carded to buy a lighter... I think it's normal, and also something you should be proud of!

I am not sure if it is medically normal, or statistically normal. Given that you stay out of the sun and you dont smoke, it is possible that you just dont have as many free radicals in your body.

It is not common, but I wish often it was! You seem blessed, make the most of it and forget about the small stuff! Good luck with your choices!

Well it does have it's advantages.

An disadvantage for me is that I'm 27 and I'm still asked for ID when I purchase alcohol (legal purchasing age is 18).

But damn if you are 42 and mistaken to be in your mid twenties you are doing pretty well.
