Is it normal to lose 100+ lives in world 8 of donkey kong cr (wii)?

Yesterday I beat Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii, but I had A LOT of trouble doing so. I lost 20+ lives on each level of World 8 (I had to buy more in between levels at the shop). The final boss was a complete nightmare (the one with the hands), and I probably lost 50 lives on it. Is this normal, or am I just bad at video games? I finished Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Mario Kart Wii 100% without nearly as much trouble.

PLEASE DO NOT say "Mario games are for noobs."

    Seems to me you need to get a life trust me I used to be a big gamer but got bored and started doing other things it a lot better having fun outside and doing other things with friends and stuff

      "Newb" means newbie. I am not new to video games and I really like Mario games. I don't see what on Earth is wrong with hating those violent and extremely difficult Halo games.

    I think ur just really bad at tht game but Mario is freaking amazing XD lmao hahah ya but ur normal u just suck at tht game really bad :P
