Is it normal to lose mucus plug in early pregnancy

I'm about 10-12 weeks along.
But i just found out 2 days ago.
3 days ago i had sex with this guy. And the next night, i got a weird ache in my hips and lower back.
And suddenly had to pee.
So i go pee and see my blood streaked mucus plug. (sorry if TMI)
But aside from the night before i hadnt been sexually active in 2 months.

Later that night i lost another piece of my blood streaked mucous plug. This is not my first time so i know what they look like. Google it.

However my other pregnancies were never accompanied by this symptom.

I lost another piece the next day. And more today.
But when i talked to a paramedic about it, he said it was unlikely the plug.
Because its been days and im not even in pain. Im not far along. And Im not even showing symptoms of a miscarriage.
Its the weekend so iccouldnt go in to my doctor.
