Is it normal to love sour candy?

I can't stop eating sour candy. Sour patch kids, sour sweet tart shockers, sour skittles, Mike n Ike zours, and my very favorite, those little 25 cent boxes of Lemonheads, I'll get a bunch of them, or 1 or 2 big ones. I've eaten them til my teeth sting, my tongue, right now the middle and back of my tongue is more sore than normal from sucking on those sweet tart shockers. I can handle soreness, I'm not a pussy. But I just thought of, I'm concerned I may have damaged my taste buds and I won't ever again be able to taste a good pizza, burger, steak, Chinese food, General Tsai's chicken, etc. I've read stuff on websites about this.

it's completely normal to go overboard with flavors you really like but just try to be mindful of how much you are consuming and try to taper it off. it's much more enjoyable when you don't need as much to get that urge satisfied.

That's true, when you do something enjoyable just a couple times a week, it probably is more enjoyable than if doing it every day. When it's only once in a while, you can look at it more as a treat, and that makes it better. That's why some parents, including mine when I was growing up, would give us treats sometimes and not always, like with candy, ice cream, etc. It was not just for health reasons, but to teach us the value of treating your kids verses encouraging your kids to understand the limits of reality.

Normal to love sour candy, not normal to keep eating it when your teeth sting and your tongue is sore.
