Is it normal to masturbate with hairgel ?

This styling gel for hair is almost like lube. I don't like to buy lube. I found hairgel in my house so I used it as lube. I am going to do this until the bottle is empty. I wouldn't bother buying lube because I like it better with more grip on my penis when I masturbate but when I rarely use something liquid I use my bottle of hair gel. Is it normal ? What do YOU use for masturbating ? also hair-gel :P ?
