Is it normal to mimic characters?

Whenever I watch a TV program, I focus on one character and how they act. After it's over, I start acting like that person. The worst case scenario is if I watch a short animation flip with a pyscho killer, I'll begin to act like that. Very quiet and creepy. If I watch a smart, educational clip, I start talking very sophisticated and intellegint. And the most strangest thing is (If anyone knows who eKirby is, from ShinyEevee) My favorite character is eKirby, and I've been acting more creepy and very evil. Even my thoughts are different. I'm more alone than I use to be and my friends are starting to get really scared. Is this normal?

The fact that you're scaring your friends should be a sign.

Sounds like you aren't happy with yourself. You have confidence issues so you try to be someone else. Feel like you are someone better than you. Get some help.

I thought i was the only one who did things like that, I guess it's a sign of a very active imagination!

I do this so so so much. Its healthy if you want to be an actor at least, but you might need to tone it down around friends or just get new ones. trust me its embarrassing to be so personally comfortable with acting like a character, then just having them stare at you like that...but mentally, I gotta say it helps you find out who you want to be. Helped me so much in life...but you have to handle it right.

  • If your friends are getting scared of you doing these things then they are quite easily scared because you don't sound scary at all.

I do this all the time. I'll go to the theatre and watch a movie, and suddenly I start acting like one character, or acting differently just because of the feel of the movie. One bad example of me: I'll be watching Big Bang Theory, and afterwards I'll start talking like Sheldon. And if you know the show and you know Sheldon, you know that this isn't the best thing to do.
