Is it normal to move out of the house right after high school?

I will be graduating high school next year and I have been looking at what colleges and things I should do. Well, my friend called me and asked if I would be interested to moving to Austin, Texas with him when I graduate high school. I have family down there, so I get to see some of my folks. However, I lived in Chicago since I was nine and scared of being on my own. My Dad said he would help me out with some of the bills and college but I'm scared I won't have enough money.

BUT, if I stay in Chicago, my Mom would help me with college and I get to live in my house for free and stay around my friends and family up here. That sounds alright but I want to have the liberty to do what I want to do and go where I want. Also, I want to start anew.

What I am trying to say is that I am scared of moving away from home and want to know if it would be a good idea to move.

Move to Austin. It's great down there and the women are gorgeous. Can't beat G.R.I.T.S., girls raised in the south

I think you should try moving out. It maybe hard at first, but then you'll like it. I actually can't wait until I graduate; I want to move away from my family and live freely.

I'm in the same position. Beats me! I say follow your heart. Im determined to move out, even if I have to live on the streets. It's my dream to live in there, not here.
