Is it normal to not be gay anymore but still have gay tendencies ?

I have known poeple who use to be gay for a x amount of years will sometimes choose to be streight or that they do not want to be gay anymore and usually at this piont want to be only considered streight . However I noticed alot of poeple who do this still have very gay tendencies. That they dont really change is it possible becuase they spun those habits from thier gay expiereinces I knew a chick who was super gay trys look like a man and would run around saying " Im getting a sex change " and I believe strapped her boobs I dont know she seemed to be getting flatter and less shapley everyday . However she still says stuff like she gay and want to only date women but have a boyfreind . I have also seen this were a man or women will become streight but still have slightly gay tendicys which looked normal when they were gay but they still had them when they go streight again . Im not stereotyping I just noticed .

You don't "choose" to be gay. When you say that you're friend was "gay for a number of years then went straight", you're sure you don't mean they were bi, and switched from preferring their own gender to the opposite gender?

I Regret the day I posted this. For the love of god no one can give a semi reasonable answer Except Ales and a few others. Everyone is so sensitive and takes insult to even asking a simple question about gays. This was not my choice and I am not going to push and say you have to be gay because I saw you with a women last week! that is not my life choice it is theirs. The fact everyone has to turn into a bitch over a simple question is sad. you can all go to hell not because your gay because your a bunch of rude assholes. I as a gay young man who is with a once bisexual young man
believe that it is perfectly normal to remain with such tendencies or perhaps outlooks and perspectives
one cannot change entirely
it is in our nature to even refuse change because one becomes too comfortable with the common or routine

but as for the cases explained on the question some of the people you have encountered sound a bit confused NOW before ANYONE says anything im not saying nor insinuating that bis or gays are confused just simply that by the way i understood the explanation on the question it sounds like some of those people maybe confused i mean there is a difference from once being with some one with the same gender and then switching to the norm of being with the opposite one and retaining some routines like checking out members of the same gender than being with some one of the oppiste gender and wanting to be with the same gender that sounds like a personal conflict ..just saying.. :)

A lot of people ignore their sexuality when the desire to have kids comes about because well lets face it its a lot easier and quicker and cheaper to do it the normal way rather than adopting, plus not all gay people desire children so you wouldn't want to be in a same sex relationship where your partner has no intentions of adopting

you don't really "not be gay" anymore, except in the rare cases where someone genuinely thought they might be gay but then after some experience realised they were wrong, although i think this is more a case of taking curiosity and going very extreme with it...

Point is, they still act gay because they are still gay? you don't really stop being gay. If you're bi you can chose to be with the opposite gender instead of the same, but that doesn't make you not bi anymore...

        You don't have to have a sex change to feel like you were born the wrong gender! In fact, some transgendered people keep the genitals of whichever sex they were born as.
        
        Some transgendered people stay the gender they were born as but have some traits of both genders.
        You get some tomboyish girls that paint their nails, wear make-up and wear girly clothes; men with a feminine personality who look typically masculine i.e. they don't look stereotypically gay; some girly girls who dress boyishly; male and female crossdressers; women who deliberately make themselves up to fool people into thinking they're drag queens and some who don't feel like they belong in either gender.

You can't just "not be gay anymore". Maybe that's why, they are trying to be straight, but it's not something that you can change at will so they still show signs of being gay is all.

    Those people are just going through a phase, or "experimenting". LOTS of people decide that they suddenly want to be gay, just to see what it's like, but if they aren't really gay then eventually they'll just "go back" to being straight.
