Is it normal to not being able to see a cat closing it's eyes

My cat was put down recently and I stayed with her while it happened. It was my first time ever seeing an animal being put to sleep.
All I can remember now is seeing her close her eyes for the last time and every time I see a cat close it's eyes it reminds me of her even if they look nothing like her.
I don't know if it's normal and it probably shouldn't matter but yeah..

    Sure, a visual stimulus triggers a recolection of a previous event....... I can't look at popcorn without recalling a hand job in a movie theater.

    That made me cry a little on the inside... That made me think of my kitty, I would never want to see him put down.... I would do the same thing.. Your perfectly normal.
