Is it normal to not brush your teeth?
My mum was really neglectful when we were young and never stressed oral health, and no matter how much I force myself to brush my teeth every day I slip out of it after a week. I usually do it 2-3 times a week.

I neglected brushing mine every day because I was always busy during the day and would collapse and fall asleep immediately at night. I didn't have a cavity for a while but then, all at once, I was hit with 7 cavities. One of them was so big that it wasn't worth saving so I had to have it pulled. This is not a good idea and I learned the hard way so I brush twice every day.
It's normal, yes. No one wants to brush their teeth.
The problem is that your teeth can and probably will become permanently damaged, due to bacteria and our refined foods.
You don't have to like it, but it's quite important to do it. Humans have a hard time learning unless that event happens to themselves.
Think of it as not wiping after pooping. There is stuff
in there.
It will bother you at some point. If you want to brush you will.
