Is it normal to not care about college anymore?

So last semester I got good grades in all my college courses my gpa was 3.71 and I just feel lost now. I don't care about my courses anymore, I figure I'll get C's in them if I don't study that hard anyway. I just feel I wasted all my motivation last semester. It doesn't help that I'm 18 and don't have my license (got it suspended). I feel depressed and no one will listen to me. My parents don't listen to me when I tell them I'm depressed they are like "everyone is depressed sometimes, you'll get over it". I'm sorry if it seems like I am complaining to you about my life, I just need to talk. I don't really have any close friends either, I have one good friend. I don't have a boyfriend, so love won't boost my spirits. So is it normal to not care about college anymore? Or life for that matter?
Anyway thank you for taking time to read this. If you have any helpful suggestions please comment.

    Yes, it's normal.

But for you, I think you should count your blessings and learn to appreciate what you do have. Obviously your parents care about you, they haven't kicked you to the curb yet, but at the age that they are they know how petty it is to waste your worries over emotions pertaining to things you could easily change. Man is inherently lazy and they don't think it is right of you to let yourself fall into that trap.

I have to stay motivated for college, I'm paying for it and my parents have no say in my life as they are not supporting me. Maybe you need to take on more to lose I guess. It keeps me from royally screwing up or becoming demotivated (you know, being uneducated AND homeless).

thats not normal. Normal is being well adjusted enough that it doesnt interfere with your daily life, and this interferes with your grades. Most school offer free counciling. Go get yourself some help before you screw your life up. Those words are hard but true and you need a dose of hard truth right now: Go get help.

Its normal! I've gone through a "slump" like that before. I also only have one really good friend because I either had a falling out with my other friends from high school, or they moved away and went to a different college than I. Plus I notice I also tend to feel like shit when I'm not interested in a class or have a ton of work to do. When you're in this depression its really easy to push everyone away which only makes your depression worse. In order to get out of my depression I got myself involved in a club which helped me make more friends and distract me from negative thoughts. Another thing is to take at least one class that interests you so it will hopefully give you something to look forward to and motivate you to keep up with classes. If you feel its getting worse though, I do recommend going to see the campus counselor. Hopefully this helps and good luck! :]

I feel exactly the same way! To be honest it's probably just because you're ready to leave, get a change of scene, you know? If you want to talk you can message me on here if you really need!
