Is it normal to not have a strong sense of smell?

I can only smell things if they’re strong or something. Any other time, I smell absolutely nothing.

People will say “do you smell that?” Or when we drive past something, my mom will be like “ew did you smell that” or one time, she was showing me these candles and saying how they smelled nice. I didn’t smell anything. Never did. So I don’t know.

    Having grown up in the midwest, nose-blindness is basically a defense mechanism for me

    After a bad fall (fractured skull)in the 1990's I have no sense of smell, it is more common than most realise.

    You should smell something when you bury your face in a candle, even if you can't specify distinct aromas. Doesn't sound normal but what're gonna do ya know?
