I used to be a lot like this when I was 14/15. Now I am a little better, but I still feel very awkward. You are normal, I think.

i used to be like this too. but once u start talking it gets easier and then u will find you dont even have to think about it.
maybe try small lke force urself to answer one question in class. and see how you go.
or pratice in the mirror. :)

I think its normal, I was like this for a period. You have to work on it, practice talking out your thoughts in a clear, understandable way to your self to build your confidence. Dont feel that you need to talk a lot in order to gain acceptance or for people to think your intelligent as 'talking' is only one component, 'doing' is what counts and what people remember :)

You might be socially awkward or very shy.

Everyone thinks i'm shy but really that's not how I am. I am quiet in lessons and sometimes I don't talk at all but when i'm with friends i'm weird and I do talk and shit. People have asked me this same question since primary school, "Why are you quiet?" and I've felt like telling them to go fuck themselves because there's no answer to the question. And the people who've asked have always been the ones who've never talked to me personally and who is not my type of person.
