Is it normal to not understand the appeal of old age?
I don't get why Old Age is glamourized and looked forward to. What's so great about living 60+ years, greying, getting weaker, slowly losing your mind, and becoming helpless like a baby? Living to old age is overrated. Then there's that whole "One grows wiser and more mature with age". That's not neccessarily true. When you think about it, there's people in their teens (13-19), 20s, and 30s that are of better health and have more wisdom and maturity than many seniors aged 70 or older. I just don't see the appeal of old age therefore I won't live to be 60 or over. It just seems pointless to me. Don't give me that whole "But if you keep yourself healthy old age won't be a problem". Sadly, that's not exactly what happens in Old Age. Instead, things tend to fall apart regardless. Yes, I do know what I'll be missing. Living to be in my 50s sounds good enough. After all, it's better to die while your mind is still sharp and healthy than old and going. :)
