Is it normal to only wipe butt after poop without washing?

Im from a culture where washing our asshole after pooping is a must. We not only wash it with water but use soap while washing our assholes after poop. If it was me only wiping my butt after a poop i would feel so unclean and unhygienic after wards. Just don't get why in the movies specially in US and Europe people only wipe their asshole and never wash it.

    Americans typically use more toilet paper. There are also bidets, but most people aren't so privilaged.

    I always time my shits to be just before my daily shower

      Bidets are always available in my country. All toilets come with it. So it's not a luxury but wasting toilet paper is for most of us as its expensive that plain water.

      i don't put it in. Just put it over the area and wash but region
