Is it normal to outgrow your friends? I have been friends with this girl for about a year now, and I no longer enjoy her company. First off she is one of the direst people I have ever met, she leaves physical dirt on my bed, floor, couch: basically everything she touches.

She has a 1 year old daughter who she doesn't parent well...But I am not the one to judge quickly, I always give new people I meet the benefit of the doubt.

Since being around her enough with her kid around, she just sits and watches TV and lets her kid run around my house like a tornado; dirtying, breaking everything in her path, to the point where I just got up and dealt with her daughter because my things kept getting messed up.

Seems I always end up just entertaining her kid and we don't actually spend time together. She was over recently and It was just uncomfortable, boring and out right frustrating.

I have done a lot of groaning up in the last year and it seems she is not the friend for me anymore.

    this happened when I stopped drinking It was ruining my life and I had save to myself.People I had known since high school quit coming around.It is ok.I have real friends now. I seen some of them at my reunion and they were really annoying to be around sober.

    Sounds like she's using you as a free babysitter! Yes it's normal to outgrow people. As we age our mentality changes and clearly yours has evovled differently than hers.

    Dump her! You don't have to dump her outright, but you can choose to not initiate contact with her, and be busy when she calls or wants to "hang out".
