Is it normal to over say sorry?

I have a really big issue with always apoligizing to people even if i dont do anything wrong, if someone bumps into me i say sorry if i open the door too late for someone i say sorry, i say sorry over everything! is this a bad habbit or is this normal?

I do this allot too. Even if I bump into something inanimate, I'll apologise to it. I'll could be nervous and start apologising like crazy. I remember this polish lady in Italy, literally walked/bumped into me. It hurt so much, but I blamed myself for standing there in the first place so, we both ending up apologising repeatedly:/

Acknowledging that you may have inadvertedly caused someone a problem or inconvenience isn't a bad thing. Try substituting it with "excuse me" or "pardon me" though. "Sorry" sounds a tad over-apologetic, but it's nice to acknowledge your mistakes. Makes some folks feel better about the world when they see others paying attention to their actions.

Me too. I say, "Sorry sorry so-so-sorry sorry sorry!" even if I bump into the wall.

You must be Canadian. We over-say sorry all the time.

I do this a lot too. I don't really know when it all started, but one day I began to say it for almost everything that needs no apology. And then the things that I probably should say sorry for, I get tongue tied. Its so weird. And its such a weird habit, that I kinda just blurt it out whenever and wherever. Sometimes I'll say it at weird times, and people will say to me; "Oh, its fine. You don't need to be sorry.". I'm actually kinda glad I'm not the only one who does this, though.

I say sorry a lot too, even to the point I get annoyed of MYSELF.

I do say sorry quite a bit too, but I'm not sure about that much. But once you get more into reality as you get older you start not caring as much so you apologize for reason not just because you feel at fault when you aren't.

And truely I use to be worse at it too.

Depends on what country you're from. A visitor to my country said it was cute how we say sorry for everything, even when the other person is at fault.

Oh. I heard the folks in France are kind of rude.
I've heard that from many people, though.
