Is it normal to pace all the time?

I LOVE to pace, I hate standing still and when I have free time with NOTHING else to do I listen to my ipod and walk in circles. I can't listen to an ipod while "chilling" it drives me nuts, I just have to move. If no one else is around I start dancing, running, jumping parkour-ing (etc) around while pacing.I also prefer to pace inside. It drives my friends and family insane. Does anybody else do this?

I recommend hanging out in a hospital waiting room

I sort of have restless legs. I'm always pacing, fidgetting, and foot tapping. It's a good way to burn a few extra calories/day and to keep your muscles loosened up. However, pacing can also be associated with anxiety issues.

Humans, like all animals, were meant to move. Our modern sedentary lifestyle is detrimental. No wonder we feel pent up! I, like you, can't sit when I'm listening to music, I have to at least chair dance XD

Some people just can't sit still. I know I can't.

I do this ALL the time too! Especially the ipod thing! I've been doing this since I was 12 and was also thinking it wasn't normal.

I am the same way. During the day I go out to the local park and run around with my ipod on, but if it's night or the weather is bad, I pace around my room.

You are one of those "can't sit still" types. It is normal.
