Is it normal to preemptively mourn the death of my cat?

My cat is two years old and healthy. She's my first pet that can cuddle with me (before I've just had hermit crabs and fish) so I'm very attatched to her. I constantly acknowledge how depressed I'll be when she passes, hopefully in the far future. I also think about how I'll act when she dies and then I get really sad and cry. I do this about 2-3 times a week.

It's a pointless waste of time and it ruins the moment. But yes, totally normal I'm afraid. I do the same thing with pretty much everything I care about.

Yeah, whenever my cat gets a little sick or has a couple of tired days I get really worried and feel heartbroken as it reminds me that one day he might get really sick and not make it or just suddenly pass in his sleep due to old age or some illness we weren't aware he had. I love that cat like he's my child. He's very talkactive and attention sick and follows you around. Such a sweetheart. I've had cats before but never one with so much personality and charm and so much love to give.

Its sad and hard to lose a pet, but there are alot of cute little guys that deserve a home.

So its also a good time when you’re ready, to provide another fuzz butt a home

Cats that live in a safe environment and are cared for generally live 15-20 years, so you got a lot of time left with your furry, purry buddy.

But in a way I can relate... I do fear the day when a loved one, or a pet dies.

Yes it's normal, it's a thought that makes you sad because its inevitable. To stop this just try and push that down to enjoy the long time you have with your cat

Just don't get too caught up over it. Enjoy the time you two have, but it's also ok to be sad sometimes.

It sucks, but it is normal when you love something so much.
Bless you and love your kitty with all your heart!

My cat will be thirteen this year, and I worry for when I will lose him, he's truly my best friend.
