Is it normal to pretend you are someone else?

Sometimes I like to pretend I am someone from a movie or a book throughout my daily life. I feel like a little kid who plays with dolls only I do it with my life. I reenact scenes from movies and pretend I am a character...is it normal

My alter ego is Zed Zyzwyzk. That way I can be the last one in the phonebook.

Yeah I'm done that a couple of times, I pretend I'm Neo from the Matrix waiting for a phonecall from Morpheus while I'm at work. Hurry up and just call me god dammit, this day isn't ending any quicker!

I do that sometimes. Except, I like to be a character from one of my own stories.

Am a 28 year old woman. I like to pretend am a princess for fun.
Not entitlement, not a sexual kink. I get my makeup done, put in a dress and think "I am a pretty princess" playfully get on with my day as a princess I get my friends to play along. Proper Disney Princess style! :)
    You seem normal to me.

  • Who are we really?

That sounds like something a hipster would say but are personalities something written in stone or in water? How much is native to our own character and how much is due to the world we're raised around?

I'll say it's normal. People emulate that which resembles their own character.
