Is it normal to put makeup on bruises

So i guess you could say im your average nerdy highschool dude; glasses, bad acne, math wiz, and band geek (guitar). Although i dont get bullied as much as others, it does happen... That being said, i start swimming next week and i have tons of bruises all over my body from various events. Would putting makeup on to cover the bruises be considered a normal solution, or would it make the situation worse?

Yeah, I guess there is waterproof makeup, but it probably costs a bit more... and anyway, I don't think you need it... unless maybe the bruises are on your face. BUT, why do you have them at all?! I thought you just meant you were a little clumsy and have them on your legs, arms, etc. which would be normal, but I see from your other comment, you are beat up?? I didn't know that still happened this day and age, at least it didn't at my school... :(
Also, I don't see guitar player as "band geek". believe me I was in marching band I played trombone, which I thought was the coolest instruments but people would give me weird looks when i told them that's what i play(and i wasnt very good at it either).
And, people who are swimmers were generally in the "cool" crowd, plus you will be very athletic built, so I don't understand why people would beat you up :(

        • 1) playing guitar is badass... I get all the girls/ my gf plays too. People get jealous and butt hurt over that and it works against me.
          2) the kids that do beat me up do it because i one up them at something they try really hard at where its a pinch for me... Its stupid stuff too. Ie: winning some kind of national music award and they can't even make it onto jv football...
          3) i think that when they falcon punch me to the ground i just lay there laughing at how stupid they sound makes them even more aggravated.

Ok... I'm starting to think this is a fake story, or at least a bit exaggerated.

Go for it. No one will even notice.

I don't think 'dudes' are supposed to wear makeup... I think they frown upon that in highschool. Does 'events' mean getting the shit kicked out of you? Not sure to be honest, but if you go to swimming wearing makeup and covered in bruises, more 'events' may ensue. Just get in the water quickly is the best solution, I think.

Man, that's brutal... Hope you are ok. I'm not really sure about this, but I would tend not to wear the makeup.

Honestly it might be difficult to cover them.

Honestly the make-up will probably wash off in the water = They will see that you tried to cover up the bruises.

Violence isn't to be recommended but SADLY it's the most effective weapon against bullies ... I'm with Lucien, build some strength and then approach the "leader" and kick his ass when he's alone.

Otherwise I'd not be surprised if there's make-up that is water proof that would work for cover-ups ... I only know of water-proof eye-liners and mascaras.
