Is it normal to react violently to tickling

When I get tickled, I tend to react violently. I remember when I was a kid I used to get tickled quite a bit. When this happened, I remember viciously kicking and pushing (albeit while laughing) my cousins away when they tried to tickle me. Is this normal?
