Is it normal to read magazines backwards?
I usually read magazines from back to front, and read the articles in reverse as well (starting at the end and finishing at the beginning). Not backwards word by word, more like paragraph by paragraph! Silly!
I do it for a few reasons. 1, I am defiant. 2, It challenges me. 3, By challenging myself I feel I truly learn and retain more information.
Sometimes, I read a bit of the end of an article and then try to fill in the beginning. Then I compare how close I was to what was written (not word for word, just basic ideas and points).
Also worth noting, if you read back to front you are not as affected by the adverts. You are also not being spoon-fed the information in any kind of intentionally misleading way. The magazine is constructed to be read front to back obviously, and so much science and psychology goes into making your eyes land on certain pages and items, and to buy this, or do that, or think this way. Backwards offers a lot of immunity from all of that.
