Is it normal to remember how things physically feel in dreams?

I have really vivid and sometimes intense dreams. When I wake up from these dreams, I can remember it in vivid detail, even how things physically felt.

I've had many dreams where I've been in a situation in a dream that would cause me pain or to physically feel something I've never felt before, I feel it in the dream and I can remember it afterwards. For example, last night I dreamed that I was on fire and I can remember how it felt. Obviously, I don't know how it feels to be on fire but I can remember the feeling and the physical pain it gave me as if it was real.

A friend of mine claims it's lucid dreaming, but I have no idea. Is it normal? Does everyone get this?

    Normal.

I still remember what it felt like to have intercourse as the opposite sex from a dream I had years ago.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I also still remember what it felt like when I got shocked with a defibrillator in a dream.

Last night I dreamed that dwarves kidnapped me and were smashing my balls with a hammer as punishment when I tried to escape.

Lucid dreaming is where you can mostly control your dream. I used to do that quite frequently, but I rarely dream anymore.

Honestly I hate dreaming. It freaks me out. I have the most bizarre and unsettling dreams. And those are the non-nightmare ones... don't get me started on the nightmares. I once had a nightmare that people had me tied up and were electrocuting me. Then I had a nightmare that people in robes were chasing me, and one of them shot me in the chest with an arrow. O.o

Then there's the infrequent night terrors. Sometimes I wake up sobbing, in a sweat, and I can't remember what caused it.
