That does happen in property of my own home without others involved, including my parents, that while eating when my belly fills up, I generally burst out a couple rips and continue eating.
At times it happens with online 'trolling' or being inappropriate and out of context for purposes of entertainment and being a general public clown. Not necessarily regarding farting, but other patterns of behavior to drawn attention or be a center of fishy suspicion.
Yes, outside of my culture it's normal, but it's not normal for a Canadian, New Zealander or Australian or Tasmanian to rip farts whilst eating, try United States since boorishness is normal for an American. Most of us hold it in, or we just don't fart, farting instead of eating dessert and saying after the fart, "how's that for dessert?" is both normal and rude, because you're not eating dessert, you're rejecting it, I've come to expect farting at the dinner table, people are just rude. That was good of you farting by yourself, people don't want to hear your trouser trumpet.

Actually, I'd say it is.
See, eating food induces a physiological response that makes the stool in the large intestine get transferred to the rectum, presumable to make room for the influx of food that will soon arrive. This likely pushes any built up gases into the rectal cavity too, which would explain your flatulatory behavior while eating.
