Is it normal to rub smooth surfaces on upper lip?

Specifically the Philtrum of the upper lip. I've had this weird habit for my whole life, and I have no idea why. I tried to google it, but even google doesn't have an answer for me (a first). The things I mostly rub on my lip are pillow cases and nails, but I do it with almost everything I come in contact with that's not food, lol. I just want to know if this is a normal thing and if anyone else shares this weird habit of mine.

So I do this with pencil erasers and smooth rubber things. I never could figure out why. I have done this as long as I remember and it’s sooo annoying. Its like an addiction to the feeling and it sucks because I get So distracted from everything.

I do this too. It probably has something to do with lips being one of the most sensitive parts of your body

I thought I was the only person who did that lol.. certain smooth surfaces I can't help it I just have to rub them on my lips. I think it is weird but wtf cares I like being weird... oh and yes I rub the head of my bf's #$!@ on my lips too, he doesn't seem to mind.

And my baby cousin can never get to sleep without touching someone's ear.

Whenever I paint my nails I rub it on my upper lip to make sure its dry. My mom also rubs the silky part of a blanket on her upper lip, its weird but normal.

Interesting, I have my own weird habit of mine that I've done ever since I was a baby, but I didn't find any other cases of it online and I wondered if other people shared my weird habit as well, because I'm pretty sure I may be the only person in the world who does it.
I just looked into it again, and there's a story of a mom being worried about her baby son's "comfort habits", which come to think of it, is exactly what mine is.

But no, I don't think I've heard of anyone with your habit either. But look into "comfort habits" stories online, and you may find similar stories like: "My little one rubs her elephants tail in her eye, in her ear and between her toes as a comfort thing."
