Is it normal to scratch untill blood?

lately, i have had an uncontrollable itching on my legs... i don't know what this means, because i know they're not actually itchy but.. they are? i don't even know anymore. but i cant stop scratching because the itching is never satisfied. ill itch until there is blood.. then then next day ill continue to itch. its becoming to seem uncontrollable. also it leaves a mark almost as if like a bruise or just burst blood vessels. but i don't know what to do about it. hot to stop it. or whats causing it...
someone help!?!?

    I wanted to say scabies, but you probably just have really dry skin. Perhaps try some Gold Bond lotion? That stuff does wonders on my dry, flaky, cracked/bleeding winter skin.
