Is it normal to send really long, frequent texts/emails?

I am a female homemaker and property manager so even though I work hard, I can choose when I do it and I have more free time than a lot of people I know. I love writing and I'm very verbose, so when I send texts and emails, they're often very long. When I'm having an argument with someone, I send a huge amount of long, ranting texts and/or emails. I don't swear but I am concerned that it is a bit "out there", i.e. not normal.

It shows a big ego to think anybody wants to read that much verbosity. You know it's too long, and yet you do it anyway. That's ridiculous. Good writing is clear and concise, so you are not as good a writer as you think you are.

I have been accused of producing 'walls of text' anytime I type anything. On something like this, I really don't care, and when texting, I figure that they know me and can deal with the suspense, but when I'm writing an email that I want to look even vaguely professional/rational, I usually type out my multipage endless tirade, save the e-mail, walk away from the computer for at least an hour, come back when I've cooled on the subject, and ask 'What here do only I care about' and delete everything that answers to that description.

    • That's an excellent idea.

I'm quite confident it's the only reason some people still think I'm sane. I only wish I had figured it out earlier. :\

I think it's fairly normal, but please careful with your phone bill! I used to text allot and write these extremely long texts. Sometimes, a text would be so long that it would get separated into four or three different conversation bubbles when it got sent. Anyway, I kept accidentally going over my limited per month (I can't even remember what it is anymore) and the bill started getting very high. $100 one time and about $300 the next. Then, I went over seas and when I got back the bill was over $1000. I think in a situation like that, the best format is email.

No they're sending the text but it takes them 5 minutes to write it and then complain when I'm driving so I don't pick up my phone. If they wanted me to recieve the message they should have written it faster. im not going to wait on you.

I reply whenever the fuck I feel like and that's how it should be with texting.

Oh, no worries, I never answer calls either. And none of my friends bitch about me replying in hours. We all do the same. And we like it this way.

I used to do this to a extent, but I didn't realize that people have lives. Now, I barely bother to send texts and if they take a long to time reply, than I'll usually think that I either said the wrong thing or that they don't like me. Which goes back to the first thing I said.
